There has always been passion about looking after our environment throughout Agnes, however, over last two years, the brand became more interested in the crisis currently facing our planet and when more research was done the brand was moved to do something about it.
It originally started with leftover fabrics from the founders' [Sophie] Fashion Design degree with an idea to make vegetable bags to encourage people to choose loose fruit and vegetables instead of packaged. Most of the product ideas come from Sophies' own journey towards a plastic-free life, after all, if she needs it other people will too. 

 

Since then it's grown into so much more. 

Sustainability is at the very core of everything we do with the brand. We’re always aspiring to be better. Agnes sells handmade goods that are designed to reduce packaging waste. As much as we can, we research into where our fabric is sourced and how it is made, for example for our Grocery bags we use 100% organic GOTS cotton. We try to support fellow small businesses that have similar values as we believe change starts with the community. 

Everything is handmade by Sophie or her partner. They like to add personalization to Agnes products. The aim is to feel as though it gives the user a personal connection to the decisions they are making. 

We aim to educate our consumers and provide some information about why our products are a better alternative. We hope in turn this will inspire them to make more sustainable changes in other aspects of their life too. 

We want to make it as easy as possible for people to implement new changes and habits by designing the most user-friendly products.

As we’re still a fairly new brand we want to start as we mean to go on and be as transparent with our customers as possible, we plan on sharing where we source our materials and packaging from and encourage our customers to help us find ways to be better.
